Why I Was Successful With USAEat FIT by Ross Smith
Hats off to Ross Smith, a USA FIT member who has lost over 25 lbs! He is still working hard to complete the remainder of his goal.
Ross' commitment to his goal was evident from Day 1, as he diligently reported his dietary intake and kept close communication with his dietitian. He still continues to marvel us with his daily dedication.
We asked Ross to comment on his USA EAT FIT experience, noting why he believes that he has been successful. Here are his answers:
1. First off I think Jennifer Femrite, my personal dietitian, was a reason I was so successful. She gave me good information. Also when she suggested I try something and she sensed some resistance on my part she would not push but try to get me to start slowly. I think she found my more willing to try something new that way. (EAT FIT dietitians pride themselves on dealing with individuals and seek to find a coaching style that works for the client.)
2. The structure of the program was good for me. I find I do better with structure. (EAT FIT food journals allow you to keep track of your daily food intake, and give you hints on how to achieve your caloric goals.)
3. I did Weight Watchers before and lost about 50 lbs. but most of it was just about losing weight and not so much about losing weight and eating healthy. With this program I have lost weight as well as eating healthier. (Because EAT FIT is run by dietitans, the emphasis is on healthy eating, not just losing pounds.)
4. I also did not get "too compulsive" with the program. What I mean by that is it can take some time to put in in the food journal everything you eat. So I just did the best I could. I tried to put in accurate info. But when I did not have the info. I found something close. When I would go out to eat if I could not figure it out all the ingredients, I would skip that meal and let Jennifer know. Fortunately, that did not happen very much. (EAT FIT is flexible so that you can be successful!)
5. Using the program I learned very soon that the more I exercised the more I could eat. And since I like to exercise and eat that worked pretty well for me. (EAT FIT tools allow you to track your daily calorie burn, so that you can adjust your food intake accordingly.)
