In 2012 I began racing with 5k's and then moved on to 10k's and half marathons. After completing my second Miami Half Marathon in 2013 I decided I wanted to complete a full marathon. At the time I trained based on some things I learned on the internet and I was involved in some fun running groups around town but I knew to complete a full marathon I needed structure and guidance. A friend told me about USA FIT Miami and I joined. I knew immediately I found the right group. USA FIT Miami provided a training plan based on my experience AND my goals. The Saturday group runs were a fun way for me be held accountable for finishing long runs. That year, I completed my first full marathon. Since then, I\u2019ve gone on to complete a 50K ultra marathon, countless obstacle course races, a triathlon, and several more full marathons, all while have tons of fun! Since then I\u2019ve run six marathons and a countless number of half marathons. Staying motivated has always been a challenge, both when I was a beginner and as a veteran runner alike. From my experience, running with a group like USA FIT Miami is incredibly motivating and keeps me coming back. Our group not only provides a proven training schedule and a support network, but a means to be held accountable and stick with the training. I joined USA FIT Miami running club to train about 6 months before the 2008 edition of the race. It was difficult at the beginning but it became enjoyable to run 2-3 times a week and early Saturday morning \"long runs\" with the rest of the team. I wasn't the best or the fastest, but crossing the finish line for the first time and having a medal around my neck gave me a sense of great accomplishment. Two years later, I wanted to do more than a half marathon and the mission to train for the marathon started. I continued training with USA FIT Miami for my first full marathon. Race day came and I \"hit the wall\" on mile 18. That's when Coach Norma from USA FIT Miami stayed with me, helping me cross the finish line. I will never forget her dedication to helping me finish the race! Since then I have completed 10 full marathons and a 50K ultramarathon. Recently, I started doing triathlons where the longest distance I've completed is 70.3 half Ironman. I am convinced my training with USA FIT Miami has helped me complete triathlons too. I don't know what the future holds ahead but I do definitely want to keep running the Miami Marathon and complete more triathlons. I lost 40 pounds and kept them off by \u00a0walking at least 25 miles a week. I have walked 16 races since 2006. My most favorite races are the ING and A1A.
