Paul Faulkner

Organizer - Interval Half Marathon

“Change your life” is a motto for USA Fit. This will be my fourth season with Lubbock Fit. I do not have a running background. My motivation was to get into better shape and maybe lose a few pounds. The program has worked for me. I began training with Lubbock Fit at age 57. I have completed 1 full marathon, the Panhandle Marathon in 2013 and 5 half marathons: San Antonio Rock ‘n’ Roll 2011 and 2012, the New Orleans Mardi Gras in 2012 and 2013, and the Willie McCool in 2013. My wife, Vicki, and I have participated in many local 5k and 10k races. Running with Lubbock Fit has changed my life. Our “group runs” on Saturday are informative, challenging, and fun. The running tips, friendship, and encouragement I have received from the group have helped me gain the knowledge, conditioning, and confidence to finish a marathon and a half marathon.

You can get into better shape, meet new friends, have fun, lessen your chance for injury, and complete a marathon or half marathon with the USA/Lubbock Fit program. I am eager to share what I have experienced the past 2 years. Come join us and let’s see what we can accomplish together.

Vicki Faulkner

Organizer - 5K/10K

Let’s get moving! I have been with Lubbock Fit for several years and each year I get to meet new runner/walkers and I learn more about running and getting fit. My motivation is to get people started with walking and also to be an encourager for the entire group. I trained for and completed the San Antonio Rock ‘n’ Roll half marathon in 2012. I have completed numerous 5K and 10K races in the area. Some of the most fun events have been the Howl-O-Ween Dog Run/Walk, the Carol of Lights Run, Turkey Trot, and the Color Run. Runners and walkers are positive people that are fun to be with. The fun and friendship at our group runs on Saturday is something that I look forward to each week. The benefits of walking are numerous: Getting into overall better health, increasing your energy and stamina, focusing on an attainable goal, and the feeling of accomplishment once you reach that goal. Whether you want to walk 1 mile,  a 5K, 10K, or half marathon, you have to get started. You can’t finish the race unless you begin! Let’s get started!

Shawna Wilson

Head Coach - Full Marathon

I have loved Running for years but in 2017 I grew even more passionate about running. I joined USA Lubbock Fit for their summer session and met the most amazing runners. At that time I had a goal of running my 1st ½ Marathon. I had ran lots of 5K’s and 10K’s but had the goal and dream of running a ½ marathon. I met with the runners weekly and we followed the plan before us. With all the excitement of each Lubbock Fit runner and all the training runs and races we ran together I completed my 1st ½ Marathon in Vegas in November 2017. But my story does not end there. I continued to train with the Marathon runners and I went on to San Antonio and ran my 1st Full Marathon. USA Lubbock Fit is for everyone. We encourage each runner/walker to come see what the excitement is about. Your goal may not be a race your goal may be to be healthier we can help you. Your goal may be to get healthy and meet new friends.

Toni McCasland

Head Coach - Half Marathon

I joined Lubbock Fit because I wanted to achieve the goal of getting active and completing my first half marathon. I believe in the program. I have completed 2 half marathons. I love helping others conquer their goals. Watching, Cheering and Encouraging others brings excitement to our run family.

Peggy Ledinski

Head Coach - Walker

I joined Lubbock Fit in May of 2015 with the encouragement of a friend. I have never walked or run any distances. I was afraid because I am not a runner, but this program has a group of Walkers and we have a great time. From the first day I joined everyone was so friendly and supportive. My first days were rough on my ego, as I could not even get around the park. I had dreams that the coach asked me to not come back-but that did not happen instead they have encouraged me and given me the extra motivations I needed to succeed. I have completed as a walker the Red Raider Road Race 5K and 10K, The Race for the Cure, Llano Wine Run 5K and 10K, Willie McCool 10K and The LAS VEGAS ROCK 'N ROLL HALF MARATHON!!!! I so look forward to the Saturday morning walks and seeing the members of my walking family.
