Questions about Reno FIT:

Yes! Email us at info@usafitreno.com for more information.

USA FIT Reno does not have a drop-in program unless you are a visiting member of another USA FIT program. Our all-inclusive membership covers our seminars, coaching, and training runs/walks. However, please contact us if you’d like to try out the program before you commit.

USA FIT Reno is an award-winning running and walking program. This same program is currently being held in over 50 cities throughout the U.S. and internationally. The national USA Fit program began in Houston about 24 years ago with 50 runners, two guys, and an idea that runners needed some guidance and training to achieve their running goals.

If you’re reading this, the answer is YOU!!! That’s right, you!!! USA FIT Reno is perfect for anyone of all abilities who has a desire to challenge themselves, wants to exercise and make new friends, wants to increase their body strength and stamina, wants to look and feel better, or simply wants to get involved in a healthy lifestyle sport. Plus we are super fun.

The official USA FIT Reno Spring season is February-June 2018. This is when we hold our seminars and provide training schedules for our members.

Variety is the spice of life. Training locations will vary throughout the season in order to keep things fresh. Visit the website for the most up to date information on upcoming locations.

Walkers are welcome! We have a wonderful walking program and an even more wonderful walking coach.

USA FIT Reno is not associated with a charity, and you do not need to raise money to participate in this program.

Scully is rad and will be a frequent visitor to USA Fit Reno. He likes scratches behind the ear and treats. And no, he isn’t named after the character from the “X-Files”. We love dogs and they are welcome to run or walk with you at USA Fit Reno as long as they are on leash.  They MUST play well in the sandbox with both two-legged and four-legged friends. Please don’t bring any dogs that may be aggressive. Or people, for that matter.

Questions about the Program:

As of right now, we just have a half marathon training group. However, our coaches are experienced and can help tailor a plan for your needs, whether it is for a longer or shorter distance than the half marathon.

The sun rises, birds sing, and we run! Some of the Saturday meet-ups will include a seminar which will start at pre determined time every Saturday. After the seminar, we meet with our pace groups for a few minutes to talk with the coaches, ask questions, make plans for the next week, etc., and then we lace up the shoes and do what we do best- run!

Our schedule comes from the great folks at Houston FIT. For over 24 years, they have been training people all over the country just like us. Everybody has a different marathon philosophy, but ours has been tested literally tens of thousands of times.

Maybe. Ask us nicely and we will see what we can do.

No, your payment to USA FIT Reno only covers the cost of your participation in the training program.

Questions about the Training:

Realizing that most people lead very busy lives, this program is one that can easily fit into your schedule. For the most part, the program calls for running or walking only four days a week. Your long run or walk will usually take place on Saturday with your group. The day after your long run/walk is always a rest day. During the week, you run or walk for time only (i.e., 30 minutes), not for distance.

During the week, we run for minutes. So if the schedule says “30” on a Tuesday, you should run or walk 30 minutes. Do this at a comfortable pace unless instructed to do otherwise. On the weekends, we do miles, so the schedule will say four miles. Listen to your coaches for guidance on running these miles each week.

While those long runs and walks are a lot easier when you’re doing them with the group, we know there are times when you won’t be able to make a weekend meeting. The seminars are important, so be sure to speak with your coach or running buddies about what you missed. In our experience, the success of our members is directly proportional to their ability to attend our weekend trainings. If you do have to miss a week, check this website for the next week’s schedule.

Sure! In fact, we target specific races as a group so that you can experience the fun and excitement of a race with your training buddies. You certainly don’t have to be competitive about it, but it’s fun to run or walk in a different place, get a race number, and cross the finish line.

Absolutely. USA FIT has programs in over 50 cities around the world, and you are welcome to attend any USA FIT meeting anywhere.

Other Questions:

Of course you could. However, most likely you’ll get a nice T-shirt, a finisher’s medal, bragging rites, and a lot of cheers from spectators and coaches.

Yes. There is no song in the course of human history that is worse than “Love Shack”. The song is awful, and let’s face it, there’s probably a lot of unscrupulous behavior that took place in the Love Shack that our mothers certainly would not have approved of. There is a penalty of 1,000 burpees if anyone plays or sings the song during the group meetings.
